An Award-Winning Design That Transforms Cinema Experience into a Circus Adventure

Upon entering the cinema, audiences are greeted by an enormous column reminiscent of a circus tent's support. Radiating from this point are luminous lines and wordings, creating a sense of anticipation and excitement. The flooring, assembled of neatly arranged "dots", guides visitors towards the ticket box and concession counter, adorned with flamboyant "lines".

The design's unique properties lie in its ability to transform a simple cinema visit into an immersive circus experience. The corridors serve as portals from tent to tent, facilitating a conversion from anticipation to astonishment, from mildness to exclamation. The dynamic form of the ceiling and the swift beats of the floor design contribute to this transformation.

Technical specifications of the design include a shift in the colour scheme from brownish timber tones to energetic purple and green tones, symbolizing flowers and meadows. This change signifies the excitement audiences feel while watching the stories unfold. The theatre entrance and wall finish with poster light boxes have been replaced with industrial fixtures consisting of black metal wire meshes, preparing audiences for the journey into other worlds.

The lavatories provide a space for audiences to ease themselves after their cinematic adventure. The design combines the easy-going style of the lobby with the vivacious style of the corridors. The combination of wooden finish and bright green tone at cubicles, black framed mirror sets, and minimalist marble basin sets, present the functionalism and humbleness of the theatre entrance design.

The project was completed in 2017 in Foshan, China. It has since received the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award, a testament to its outstanding expertise and innovation. The design is a top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable piece that introduces positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
